We take great pride in our roasting process and go to great lengths to ensure the farms and distributors we work with are able to provide us with green coffee that meets our quality standards.
There are three main contributing factors that coalesce into the overall Q Grade or Quality Grade of the Specialty Coffees we source. The Specialty Coffee Association has established a workable process for grading coffees from various regions all over the world through trained and certified Q Graders. Coffees graded with a Q Grade of 80 points and higher are categorized as Specialty Coffee. All of our coffees come from their country of origin with Q Grades of 84 points and up.
The three aforementioned factors that heavily impact the Q Grade of all coffees are the Varietal, farm Process and Altitude where the coffee is grown. We provide these details on every product page and bag shipped. Other factors can contribute to coffee quality such as roast defects and brewing methodology and recipes. We are happy to share any and all aspects of our process with our coffee loving community. Reach out through the Contact Us section of the site.
